A deep, round bowl in pearlised ivory glass, banded in metal at the rim and raised on a turned foot, with a cast peacock standing alongside — neck arched over the rim, train spread down and across the base. The verdigris wash on the feathers pulls green out of the gold, which is what keeps a piece this ornate from reading as merely shiny. Twelve inches tall and ten across the bowl. Deep enough for fruit or a mound of wrapped chocolates, handsome enough to leave empty on a sideboard. Hand-wash the glass only.
